Concentrated Solar Power for Industrial, Commercial or Institutional Applications
Electricity, Heat, Cooling & Lighting
The Power-Spar® is a revolutionary high efficiency solar concentrator that can be configured for electricity, heat,
cooling and/or lighting solutions. The Power-Spar® system consists of a parabolic trough reflector which concentrates the sun's
energy onto a modular absorber. The absorber converts
the sun's energy to electricity (via high efficiency multi-sun
photovoltaic cells), or to heat (via a patented absorption
surface) or transports the light to the buildings' interior
(via optical cabling).
The system is designed for easy integration with heat recovery systems,
turbines, thermal based chillers and geo-thermal solutions
to maximize the thermal, electrical and lighting
outputs. This efficient co-generation yields unprecedented
dollar value.
Capable of capturing up to 80% of the sun's energy, Power-
Spar systems can reduce typical building energy bills by as
much as 70%/year!
PRESS RELEASE
May 23, 2008 - The Ontario Ministry of Research and Innovation (MRI) and Wal-Mart Canada announced today that they are pursuing a project
with Menova Energy that would provide up to $5.9 million to support the demonstration of the company's world-leading Power-Spar solar concentrator
technology.
The intention is to test and install the technology on the roof of a Wal-Mart store in Ontario, yet to be selected or constructed.

Ontario consumers facing higher gas bills
A rush of cold air could wash over Ontario this fall when residents get their first glimpse at natural gas bills that include higher prices which went into effect on Canada Day.
Consumers will face gas bills that are as much as 45% higher than what they're used to paying, depending on where they live, and that could convince many to sign energy contracts to cut their costs.

Incentives for Renewable Energy
Governments at the Federal, State and/or Provincial levels may provide significant incentives to businesses (and individuals) who
install Power-Spar® products.
New programs are being announced on a regular basis - for example, the Ontario Energy Board (OEB)
and the Ontario Power Authority (OPA) announced on Mar 21, 2006 that the Province of Ontario will set "a price of 42 cents per kilowatt
hour for solar photovoltaic projects". See the press release
or go to the Ontario Energy Board site.
For US Federal and State programs, see the Database of State Incentives for Renewable Energy
(DSIRE web site).
See our related links page for more information about to incentive programs.
